Manning’s MixerJanuary 17, 2016January 17, 2016Calvin Campbell

Manning’s Mixer was written by Nita and Manning Smith.  It is danced to the music of In The Good Old Summertime. The version I use is a Lloyd Shaw Foundation recording. You can listen to a sample of the music by clicking here.

This mixer is rather unique because the progress from partner to partner is done in a wrong way Right & Left Grand.  The video I found on YouTube is very well done except for the observation that the dancers are doing the balances hands down and in the U.S. we do balances hands up palm to palm.  To see the video click here.  The video uses the LSF music.

The Lloyd Shaw Foundation also has very nice downloadable written instructions.  Click here for the pdf file.  I also included this dance in the 23 mixers published in Dancing For Busy People.

As with most mixers, this dance routine will work well with many other recordings. However, I find that generally the original music really gets the people singing during the wrong way Right & Left Grand.

Try it out.  I think you will like it.
